CHANGES HAPPENING OVER AT MY CHALLENGE BLOG, PAPER PLAYTIME

If you are looking for the HELLO, CUPCAKE Blog Hop, CLICK HERE!

Hello all my bloggy friends!  I just feel like chatting with you for a moment about the changes happening on my challenge blog PAPER PLAYTIME.

We have a very talented group of ladies that are always positive, always supportive, and always quirky and fun over there.  Normally we have a new challenge every Monday with prizes to one random.org winner.  But we are going to change our challenges to the 2nd and LAST Monday each month starting in March.

We have 2 teams:  Challenge Team and DIGI Team.  The 2nd Monday of the month is ANY PAPER PROJECT that follows our challenge theme.  The LAST Monday of the month is DIGI MONDAY and the challenge is always ANYTHING GOES.  Some ladies are on one team, some are on both, so the most projects any of them would have to do is 2 a month.

I thought I'd just see if any of you guys were interested in joining our team.  We are currently only assigning team members for March and April.  So it's only a 2 month commitment.  If you are interested, you choose which team you want to be on - Challenge or Digi or you can choose to be on both.

If you'd like an opportunity to join our QUEEN Team, please Link to your blog below.  I'll go check out your current and past work there.  I will only be adding a few new members, so not everyone who is interested will make it on the team.  Yes, this will be very hard for me to decide, but the good news is, you have another shot at it in May / June.  That's the good thing about going every 2 months.

Please also leave a comment with your email so I can contact you.  If you have any questions, you can contact me at northrose at slowar dot com.  But to be considered, you MUST have a blog where you post craft projects regularly and link to it below.

Thanks ladies! I look forward to making some new friends!  IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE SEEING THE LINKY TOOL BELOW, PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT WITH YOUR NAME, EMAIL AND BLOG ADDRESS. THANKS.

FOR MY NEXT PROJECT

I also decided to write a little poem and make it into a little book - like a child's book.  This was so fun!

I took 6 Size #10 (Business size or Letter size) envelopes, sealed them, and folded them in half.
I adhered the envelope halves back to back with the next envelope and these became my pages for my book.
The pages were then covered with decorative papers and inked around all the edges.
For the front and back covers, I cut chipboard a tad larger than the envelope and covered it with decorative paper and decorated.

Here is the front, back, and all the pages in-between...
The poem reads:

I HAD A LITTLE CUPCAKE
...by Janis L. Lewis

I had a little cupcake
as pretty as can be
It smelled like Vanilla ice cream
it's frosting shining at me

I held it in my hand
and smiled from ear to ear
but then my tummy rumbled
and my cupcake disappeared

Flaunt it Fridays #13 TAGS, BAGS, BOXES & MORE Match2 (box) Cut

I had such a difficult time trying to decide how to use my box.
Our Challenge cut this week over at FLAUNT IT FRIDAYS
is to use the Match2 (box) cut from
TAGS, BAGS, BOXES, & MORE
on page 65.
I cut my box at 5 1/2".

At first I though I'd cover the opening with acetate and make an adorably cute card set.
Then I thought I'd somehow attached a string of tags attached with ribbons so when you pulled out one tag they would all come out.
Then I thought.... but what do I really need?  A better, easier way to store my buttons was the answer.

This box top is open.  No barriers. Perfect for pushing around buttons looking for the perfect color, the perfect size all the while not spilling them on the floor or having them roll across my desk.
Voila.

I just love this little box!
I hope you will hop over to FLAUNT IT FRIDAYS and play with us.  I'd love to see what you do with this cut!
Flaunt it!!

SCRAPPY MOMS TERRIFIC TUESDAY CHALLENGE - CREATE A CRITTER

Photobucket

Look what I found today!  I know, all of you probably already know about this challenge blog, but I just found it TODAY!  I'm so excited!  I love Cricut Challenge Blogs that don't have a lot of rules.  This is my FIRST SCRAPPY MOMS TERRIFIC TUESDAY CHALLENGE!!  Yeah!  Happy Dance!  The challenge for this week is to use CREATE A CRITTER.  That's it!  That's all the rules.  How easy is that?!
Card #40

Here is the A2 size card I made.  I just love CREATE A CRITTER! This came together fairy quickly.  I even cut out the ducky some purple galoshes, but decided not to use them after-all.

Buttons and jute from Joann's.
All cuts found on page 31.

BLOG CANDY ALERT FROM LAURIE!

Hello all my Bloggy friends!
Go check out Laurie's blog and her candy!
Let her know Janis sent you over.

Have a nice Sunday evening!

CRICUT SAMPLER CARDS

If you are looking for Sensational Scene Cards Blog Hop, CLICK HERE.

When I ordered the Cricut Design Studio, I had a choice on cricutmachine.com.  I could order just the software for $34.95 or I could order the software and CRICUT SAMPLER cartridge bundle for $24.95.  Hmmmm....

I really didn't think I'd use the Cricut Sampler cart that much.  But I have to tell you, it's got some animals on it from ZOOBALOO (a cartridge I don't have), and they are just precious!  Now I'm thinking I really want ZOOBALOO.  I think Cricut should come out with several SAMPLER carts featuring a combination of different carts out there.  What a great way to get you interested in something you otherwise may have easily dismissed.

Here are some cards I made this morning.  It's so fun just to sit down and explore, create, and relax.  Love this crafting time.
