CCC #71 MOTHER'S DAY CARD

Welcome to CRICUT CARDZ CHALLENGE #71! This week Mary has asked all of us on Design Team #2 to make a Mother's Day Card using any cartridges and colors we like.  I love that kind of freedom to create, don't you?
Card #132, 133, 134, 135
All solid colors are Stampin' Up or Recollections papers. Gingham background is Recollections paper cut @ 4" x 5 1/4".  Sentiment mat cut @ 3 3/4" x 1". Sentiment printed onto white paper 3 3/8" x 3/4" from computer using Brock Script. Capitol letters are @ 26 pts. Small letters are @ 22 pts. Cricut cartridge SIMPLY CHARMED for tulip page 38 cut @ 3 1/2" with Shadow feature too.  I was having withdrawals not adding a button to the outside, but I thought it really didn't need anything else added.  OCD kicked in and I had to add one to the inside. LOL I made 4 of these simple cards. I'm really pleased with how they came out.

Hop over to CCC and play along with us! We can't wait to see what you create for your Mother's Day card.

Help Fight MS! $1.00 Donation Request

If you are looking for the HANGING WITH MY PEEPS blog hop, CLICK HERE.

My husband, Tom, is participating in the BP MS 150 Bike Event this weekend. They will end up pedaling from Houston to Austin, Texas divided up between Houston to La Grange on Saturday (today) and La Grange to Austin tomorrow.

Okay, so BonBon wasn't really a rider, she was just helping her daddy hold his bike after today's event was completed.

Tomorrow is the final day of the event. Please pray for safety for all the riders. I know there were at least 2 injuries for cyclists that involved an ambulance and critical care.  With such a large crowd of bikers on the roads, you don't want crashes to happen, but sometimes they do.

Tom did GREAT today! We are so proud of him!!

I want to ask all my crafting buddies, followers, friends, etc, to please donate $1 toward this cause. Just think how fast those one dollars would add up if a handful of you donated. Now, don't feel pressured. Sometimes even $1 is hard to come by, and I totally understand that.  I love you all whether you donate or not. If you would like to donate a dollar, here is the link that will give Tom credit for your donation toward his goal:

Thank you in advance!

TODAY IS BONNIE'S BIRTHDAY!

Card #130
Today is Bonnie's 17th Birthday! Yeah!!
Many of you know that Bonnie is our Special Needs child. She is always happy, smiles a lot, and loves to shake hands with everyone - even people in line behind us at the grocery store. LOL  She doesn't walk exactly like you may expect, her speech is a language all her own (with words thrown in every now and then that you can recognize), and she's just absolutely PRECIOUS.  And to think when I was pregnant, the doctor sat me down and said, "There's something wrong with the baby. We don't know what. We won't know the extent of the problem until the baby is born. I have information here I can give you to speak to someone if you are interested in getting an abortion."  WHAT?!  Oh my gosh. Who in this world is NORMAL anyway?

Bonnie is such a tremendous blessing to us. We are so proud of her and so thankful that she is a part of our family.

Some of my friends mailed her birthday cards. We have been saving them up for her to open tonight when we go out to eat for her birthday. She is so excited she has all this mail!

The crown she is wearing was cut from the Cricut cartridge ONCE UPON A PRINCESS @ 4" 3 times and overlapped to fit her head perfectly. I added some huge *rhinestones all around it. She loves her Princess Crown.

Her crown, birthday card, and envelope were all made with this same cartridge and all papers (except solid papers which are from Recollections) are from Hobby Lobby's "Fairytale Princess" cardstock glitter pack.

Her 6" x 6" square birthday card was made using the Martha Stewart Scoring Board. Start with 12" x 6" cardstock and score @ 6" for square card.

Birthday cake from page 74 cut @ 5" including Shadow feature.
Yes, I'm going Cuttlebug crazy!
Cuttlebug embossing folders used:
Cake - Window Panes
Frosting - Flowers
Candles - Pajama Stripes

Happy Birthday phrase on page 74 also cut @ 2 1/2" including Shadow feature.
PK-531 Simple Sallies Assortment Faces from Peachy Keen stamps used on Happy Birthday phrase.

Martha Stewart Scoring Board measurements for envelope.
Start with 10" x 10" cardstock
Score A lines (diagonal sides) @ 3 3/4"
Score B lines (diagonal top and bottom) @ 3 3/4"

I've added this card to her stack for her to open tonight.  Yes, I'm sure we'll be taking lots of pictures.  For all of you who mailed Bonnie a card, THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH! It means a lot to me that I have friends like you who are so sweet.

If it's your birthday today too, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
If it's not your birthday today, then HAPPY UN-BIRTHDAY Alice In Wonderland style.

And Mama, I know I told you yesterday on your birthday, but Happy 70th Birthday again.

Smiles!
