The Queen's Royal Digi Challenge #2!

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR PAPER PLAYTIME'S ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE
PLEASE CLICK HERE!

Welcome to The Queen's Royal Digi Challenge #2 - FALL / THANKSGIVING theme
Do you need a laugh yet this morning?  Look at this little girl's pigtails flying in the wind as she rides Tom Turkey. LOL  That should give you a smile or chuckle or two.

#255 using PINK CAT STUDIO
Card base is purple card stock from Recollections for an A2 size card
(5 1/2" x 4 1/4"). Background glitter paper is from stash - probably from a DCWV stack. Digi Image from PINK CAT STUDIO and digitally colored with Adobe PhotoShop.  Blessings stamp from K Andrew Designs' stamp set Fall-O-Ween.  Here's a close-up of that.....

Here is a picture of all the stamps in this set....

I have two more cards to show you! You didn't think I was done, did you?

#275 BUGABOO DIGI STAMPS
The little Pilgrim & Indian Girl carrying some of the Thanksgiving Feast are digi images from BUGABOO DIGI STAMPS. I love Bugaboo's clean lines and adorable images! I colored these 2 images using Adobe PhotoShop. This is actually just a postcard. All the papers, ribbons, and elements on this postcard are from scraps. Can you believe it? I just hand wrote "THANKFUL" on the top.

#276 DOODLE PANTRY
Look at this adorable birdie sitting in the pumpkin patch!  The digi image here and the digi sentiment are both from DOODLE PANTRY and pre-colored. All I had to do was PRINT them. Yeah! I like that. The pre-colored images are so much better than anything I could do coloring myself. This is also a postcard. I thought making a couple of postcards would be fun and a little different for a change. All the papers, ribbon, and buttons are from stash.

Hop over to THE SCRAPBOOKING QUEEN and check out everything our Royal Digi Design Team created. These ladies are so talented! You're gonna love what you find there!

Here are a couple more projects using our sponsor's digi images. Click on the caption to go to that post for all the card making details....

Crocheted Scarves for Paper Playtime's Ch#59 - Anything Goes

Happy Halloween!
Today is the beginning of a special 1 week challenge over at Paper Playtime.
Ch# 59 - ANYTHING GOES with Past or Present Projects!
I chose to post my 2 scarves I've recently crocheted for 2 of our daughters.

Project #288 and Project #289 made this year
This first crocheted scarf I made for our special needs daughter, Bonnie. It's got lots of bright, pretty colors in it for her to enjoy. Then I went around the edges and trimmed it in white. She's already wearing it on our walks outside and loves it. It makes me so happy that she is enjoying this so much. And it was so easy to crochet. The entire scarf was made with colored yarn from Vanna's Choice yarn and white yarn from Red Heart and holding 2 yarns together. I love the thickness and softness of the Vanna's Choice yarn.

#289
I got the easy pattern from one of my books called 154 CROCHET WAVE PATTERNS by Leisure Arts.

What I really like about this book is that it gives you the pattern repeat count so you can make whatever you want as long or as short as you want and know the pattern will always end at the right place. This is pattern #80 in the book called "Quick & Easy Chevrons." You just chain a multiple of 8 until you reach the length you want then add 3 more chains before turning to start Row 1.

#288
Here is the same pattern in a scarf of burgundy & black for our college Senior for her USC Fighting Gamecocks school colors! The entire scarf was crocheted holding 1 black and 1 burgundy together of the Red Heart yarn. I love that the Red Heart yarn doesn't cost as much and you get more on the skien than with other yarns.

Hop over to Paper Playtime to see what all the other Designers have chosen to post to inspire you in this challenge. You can enter our challenge here, directly from my blog on this post, or at Paper Playtime.
Have a great Halloween! :) Janis

CCC #94 - Halloween!

Today begins another great Challenge @ CardzTV with Mary! Everybody loves Mary & her challenges. Today is the start of Ch#94... here's what Mary says about this challenge.....

"Challenge #94: “Spooks, Monsters, Ghouls and Goblins”  Make a card for Halloween using ANY Halloween image you'd like from any cartridge(s), and using any colors you’d like."

Easy, Peasy!!

#272
MINI MONSTERS used for Monster & Ghouls wording.
Monster p. 30 cut @ 3 1/2" with Shadow Feature. Keypad overlay Row 1, Column 3. Pop dots used to place on card for some added dimension.
"Ghouls" p. 40 cut @ 1 /4". Keypad overlay Row 2, Column 3.
I used the FIT TO LENGTH option on the Cricut. I told it I wanted the Shadow cut for GHOULS to fit in 3 1/2" space. Then I hit the OK button. It calculated that it would need to be cut @ 1 1/4". Coolness.
Black rhinestones for monster's eyes. oooooo  eeeeekkkkk   creepy....
Bow is jewelry cording.
All papers from ColorBox or Echo Park.
Everything inked around the edges with black ink.

Come over to Cardz TV with Mary & Play with us!

I am also entering this into my friend's "Inspire Me Fridays"!
Boo! :) Janis

Pagoda & Old West Happy Birthday Cards

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE MOTHER GOOSE BLOG HOP, CLICK HERE.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE GETTING CRICKY THANK-FALL BLOG HOP, CLICK HERE.

A friend of ours is about to celebrate her 40th Birthday! Woo-Hoo!  I'm in my mid-forties, and I can testify that each decade just gets better and better. I was trying to think of a good birthday card I could make for her, and decided the PAGODA Paper Lamps would be perfect to represent a party theme.

Project #283 for 2011

PAGODA Cricut cart used for party lamps.
Blue Paper Lamp page 26 cut @ 3 3/4" with Shadow feature.

Red Paper Lamp page 25 cut @ 3 1/2" with Shadow feature.

Green Paper Lamp page 24 cut @ 4" with Shadow feature.

All Paper Lamps cut using ColorBox papers (from Walmart).
All Shadows cut using DCWV Glitter Yellow cardstock.
Cardbase if glittered paper from DCWV The Glitter 12"x12" stack.
The white cardstock mat was cut @ 5 1/4" x 4".
White mat was run through the Cuttlebug for the embossed background.
(ProvoCraft really should print the name of the Cuttlebug embossing folder onto the folder itself. I threw the packaging away so I have no idea what this folder is called.)
HAPPY stamp from K Andrew Designs set "Winter Wishes".

BIRTHDAY stamp from K Andrew Designs set "Coffee & Tea For You & Me".

That was my girlfriend's birthday card. But I also had to make a birthday card for a friend's husband. Much harder for me to create.

#286 outside
#286 inside
I really wanted to add some rhinestones or buttons or ribbon or flowers on here. But I withheld those urges.
OLD WEST Cricut cartridge:
Blue background mat is Wanted Poster on p. 44 cut @ 4 1/2". Keypad overlay Row 2, Column 1.

H on outside p. 35 cut @ 3/4". Inside one cut @ 4 1/2". Keypad overlay Row 3, Column 6.

B on outside p. 35 cut @ 3/4". Inside one cut @ 4 1/2". Keypad overlay Row 4, Column 5.
Bandanna on outside cut @ 2 1/2". Inside one cut @ 1 1/2".

Same K Andrew Designs sentiment stamps for Happy Birthday as used on other card. :)
If it's your birthday today too, well then Happy Birthday!
Have a fun day y'all! Stay cool or warm depending on where you live.
Stay dry. Smile at someone today even if you don't feel like it. You have no idea how much a smile can really turn a person's day around or how badly a person needs to get one.
Smiles :) Janis
